Halloween 2009

October flew by so quickly. We were so busy with all our activities, birthdays, parties, etc. that Halloween snuck up on us. We decided to keep Halloween pretty low key this year but we still had a lot of fun.
First of all, we woke up and had a spooky breakfast of Frankenstein waffles and scrambled brains. We have made it a tradition to have a spooky themed meal every Halloween and this year it was breakfast. It is fun to see how excited the girls get while watching me make the meal and then while eating it. So fun.

The rest of the day we just relaxed, did a little shopping and then headed out at around 5:00 to start off our Halloween festivities. We went to a local movie theater for the annual trunk or treat, but it was pretty lame so we didn't stay too long. Then we headed over to trick or treat at some older couples' homes in our ward. After that we hit our neighborhood and a few other streets. Although we didn't trick or treat too long, the girls still came home with quite a bit of candy. It was a fun day!
Because our girls have been OBSESSED with the new Alvin & The Chipmunks movie for MONTHS, of course that is what they decided to be for Halloween. They LOVE the Chipmunks. They have the soundtrack from the movie and know all the songs by heart (even Avery). I meant to get some footage of them singing one of the songs in their costumes, but of course we got to busy on Halloween to do it. I will have to do it later and post it because it is too darn cute to forget. They got a lot of compliments on their costumes and were loving all the attention. They did laugh a lot though when people kept mistaking them for little boys. I say that's what you get when you dress up as male characters! :)
