Hadley's Birthday
We had a fun day celebrating with Hadley on her birthday. We had a small party with my sister and brother in law and had pizza (Hadley's favorite already) and cupcakes. We started out the party by opening presents. Like most one-year-olds she wasn't excited about the process and pretty much sat there while everyone watched me open her presents - Ha Ha Ha! Although she had no idea what was going on, she did like her new books that she was given. Her favorite gift was a little Happy Meal toy bear that Paige wrapped up and gave her along with a handwritten card. :)

Despite the lack of enthusiasm for opening presents, she more than made up for it with her eagerness to DEVOUR her giant cupcake. She had no hesitation digging her fingers right into it and shoveling it into her mouth as fast as she could murmuring, "mmmmmm" the entire time. She made a HUGE mess, but it was so cute.

Hadley is an absolute joy to have in our family. She has a happy temperament and hardly ever cries. Here are some of her latest accomplishments:
-While she has been walking for almost two months, she is now a pro. She is super speedy and is able to keep up with her sisters. She is able to stop, bend over, pick up toys, and walk off with them.
-She LOVES to dance and she has some pretty sweet moves (I will have to tape some and put them in another post). Her signature move is spinning in a circle with her hands off to the side like a hula dancer, but she also does some fast feet moves, head shaker moves, and hand waving moves as well.
-Not only does she love to dance, but she loves to sing as well. She will sing, "nananana" in little funny tunes and bob her head along to her own songs.
-She is starting to climb up on things: the stool in the bathroom, the toilet from the stool in the bathroom, etc. I have to keep a close eye on her because she is quickly becoming a little monkey. She can also climb up our entire flight of stairs with lightening speed - however, she has not figured out how to go down yet. She will cling to the gate at the top of the staircase and squeal until we help her down. :)
-She isn't really saying any words yet other than mama dada, and a few sounds, but she does try to say "no" she will shake her little finger and say, "Mo, mo!" It is really funny. I also swear she says hello sometimes, "hee dow" but it's at random times, so technically we can't count it as a word yet.
-Whenever she wants something she will point to it and grunt like a caveman. She will also shake her head and say, "mo mo mo" when she doesn't want something you are offering her.
-She loves to give kisses and will say, "mmmmwaaa" when she kisses us. And she is even starting to blow kisses to us sometimes.
-She is starting to want to feed herself with a spoon and will hold her spoon while we feed her - she has managed to give herself small bites here and there.
-She knows a few animal sounds. If you point to a dog in a book she will make a "woof woof" sound and she will also make a kissing sound for fish. She says, "booo" for "moo" when she sees a cow and she tries to blow raspberries when she sees a horse. She is OBSESSED with any book that has animals in it.
-She is SUPER curious, always going through drawers, cupboards, emptying trashcans, toyboxes, and bins. She keeps herself busy by exploring and making HUGE messes everywhere she goes. I call her my little whirlwind.
She is doing new things each day. I love this age because she is learning so much and truly exploring her world, plus she is so darn cute that even when she is emptying our q-tips on the ground for the thousandth time, all I can do is laugh and kiss her because she is so precious to me. I love this little girl with all my heart and am so blessed to be her mother.
Since she is obviously too young to answer the birthday questionnaire I put a few facts about her below:
Height: 29 1/2 inches
Weight: 18.25 lbs
Number of Teeth: Four on the top, three on the bottom, and one half of a top molar on the right hand side (the other half has not surfaced yet). :)
Favorites
Foods: Yogurt, apples, goldfish crackers
Song: Any primary song immediately makes her stop and dance to the music
Cereal: Cinnamon Life
Vegetable: Carrots
Drink: Apple Juice
Toy: Glow Worm, Alphabet Train, & Baby dolls
Book: Any book with animals in it
Animal: Dogs

We LOVE you Hadley Hoo!
