Valentine's Day
My girls LOVE Valentine's Day. It has never really been one of my favorite holidays, but we try to make it fun and special for them.
Since my ankle was freshly sprained, I did not get up and make them their traditional heart breakfast on the actual day of Valentine's Day, I made it for them on the following Saturday. It was heart shaped eggs and strawberries with toast. Fancy, I know!!!
We always get the girls a few little things they get to open on Valentine's morning before school. This year it was socks, fun erasers, lip shaped kazoos, and heart shaped Reeses.

I fixed the girls hair in heart braids, but forgot to take any pictures of them this year - darn it!
The girls had a wonderful sugar loaded day at school. Avery came home with this gem:
Then later went and had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Orme's house with Great-Grandma Lila. Grandma Orme had prepared a really fun "Cupid's Dinner" for us.
When we arrived we were given a menu and told to choose two items per course. Each item on the menu represented a part of dinner. If you chose, "heart" you received salad. If you chose, "gifts" you received silverware, etc. However, we did not know which word on the menu stood for which item ahead of time. So it made for a VERY interesting dinner. Some people had their dessert first. Other people had to eat most of their dinner with their hands which was tricky with salad, pork chops, and rice pilaf. We had a lot of good laughs as we watched each other eat this fun, crazy dinner!
